Varying tones of dark to light denim blue.

Also marketed as ‘Lapis Lace Onyx’, it does not contain either lapis or onyx – the white is calcite and the blue is scheelite.

Scheelite has a hardness of 4.5-5 while calcite has a hardness of 3 making this stone suitable for earrings, pendants and brooches but unsuitable for rings or bracelets and care needs to be taken when designing for this stone and when working with it.

• Stability – resistance to alteration by light, heat or chemicals
• Toughness – resistance to fracture, cleavage or cracking
