Chrysoprase is an opaque polycrystalline chalcedony that owes its colouring to nickel impurities.

With a hardness of 6, excellent toughness and good stability, chalcedony is suitable for use in rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, brooches and cufflinks, although abrasion and wear may occur in rings and bracelets.
