Different tones of pink with striking deeper burgundy markings running through this marquise jasper cabochon.  Please note this is a flatter cabochon with a flat back and only a slightly domed top.

Jasper is an opaque polycrystalline form of quartz.  With a hardness of 6, excellent toughness and good stability, jasper is suitable for use in rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, brooches and cufflinks, although abrasion and wear may occur in rings and bracelets.
