I'm not a pink kind of girl but I do have a soft spot for these earrings... They appeal to the gem geek in me as the matt silver settings contain polished slices cut through a pink sapphire crystal, showing the growth structure. I loved making these settings and the fact that the stones are something special - very different to a faceted pink sapphire. They could be the stone that tempts me over to the pink side...
This pair of silver studs is set with sapphire slices which have a combined weight of 10.05ct and each one measures approx. 12x10mm.
Sapphire is a variety of corundum which grows as six-sided crystals – evidence of which may be seen by the dark growth marks within the stones. Found in Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Kenya, Tanzania, Thailand and Montana, USA amongst other places.
