This is an amazing stone which has the golden tiger’s eye but with elements of blue hawk’s-eye in a band whose fibrous strands run in a different direction to those either side. A really interesting stone!
Tiger’s-eye and hawk’s-eye are both opaque polycrystalline forms of quartz. With a hardness of 6, excellent toughness and good stability, they are suitable for use in rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, brooches and cufflinks, although abrasion and wear may occur in rings and bracelets.
Hardness – resistance to scratching and wear
Stability – resistance to alteration by light, heat or chemicals
Toughness – resistance to fracture, cleavage or cracking
Please note you will receive the stone in the photograph
