A natural form of volcanic glass, treat as glass, taking care when setting not to crack the stone.

With a hardness of 5-5.5, fair to good toughness and good stability, obsidian is suitable for use in rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, brooches and cufflinks, although abrasion and wear may occur in rings and bracelets.
